Palworld Breeding Calculator

Want an Anubis, a Jetragon, or a rare Ignis variant? Palworld never tells you which parents make it.

This Palworld breeding calculator does. Pick two Pals to see their egg, or pick the Pal you want and see every pair that produces it. Results follow the breeding rules in Palworld 1.0.

What Is Palworld?

Palworld is an open-world survival and crafting game by Japanese studio Pocketpair. You explore, build bases, and catch creatures called Pals. They fight beside you or work at your base, chopping wood, mining ore, and cooking meals.

The game entered Early Access on January 19, 2024, on Steam and Xbox. Pocketpair reported more than two million sales in its first 24 hours, and Steam concurrent players later topped two million.

Version 1.0 launched on July 10, 2026. It brought new regions, 72 new Pals, and two systems that change how you raise them: Mutation and Awakening.

Breeding drives Palworld's late game. You use it to get hard-to-catch Pals, stack strong passive skills, and raise stats across generations.

What Is a Palworld Breeding Calculator?

A Palworld breeding calculator predicts the egg from any male and female pair. It also works in reverse. Choose a target Pal, and it lists every parent combination that produces it.

Doing this by hand is hard. Nearly 300 Pals create tens of thousands of possible pairs, and the values behind each result stay hidden. Guessing burns cake, time, and incubator space.

A calculator turns that huge breeding chart into something you can search, filter, and share.

Breeding Mechanics

How Palworld Breeding Works

Breeding power decides most eggs

Each species has a hidden breeding power, also called combination rank. Rarer, stronger Pals usually have lower numbers.

For two different species, the game adds both values, adds one, and halves the total, rounding down. The egg hatches as the Pal whose breeding power sits closest to that number.

🄚
Offspring ChildNitewingTarget = ⌊(P₁ + Pā‚‚ + 1) / 2āŒ‹

Take Lamball (3050) and Penking (2070). The math lands on 2560, which is Nitewing's exact value. That pair hatches Nitewing every time.

When two species tie, a second hidden value picks the winner. The calculator applies it for you.

Unique combos override the math

Some pairs skip the formula and always produce one fixed Pal. These unique combos are the main route to element variants such as Ignis, Cryst, Noct, Lux, Terra, Aqua, and Botan Pals.

Gender usually doesn't matter, as long as you have one male and one female. Katress and Wixen break that rule. A male Katress and a female Wixen produce Wixen Noct. Swap the genders, and you get Katress Ignis.

Same-species pairs and legendary Pals

Two Pals of the same species always produce that species. This makes it easy to farm duplicates for the Pal Essence Condenser.

The formula never produces legendary Pals like Jetragon, Frostallion, or Paladius. Catch a male and a female, though, and they breed like any other pair.

What parents pass down

Parents shape more than the species. Each egg can inherit:

  • Passive skills from both parents' combined pool, plus a chance of random extras.
  • Active skills, including moves learned from skill fruits.
  • IVs, the hidden 0 to 100 values for HP, Attack, and Defense. Community testing puts the odds at about 30% from each parent and 40% random for each stat.

So choose parents for their passives, not just their species.

Mutated Eggs in Palworld 1.0

Palworld 1.0 introduced Mutation. Every breed has a small chance, around 1%, of producing a bonus Mutated Egg. Pals from these eggs hatch with higher stats and a unique passive skill.

The Extravagant Vegetable Cake raises the mutation chance. Use it when you're hunting for one.

Quick Start

How to Use This Palworld Breeding Calculator

  1. 1

Pick a mode. Use Parents to Child when you have a pair in mind. Use Find Parents when you know your target. Use Child + One Parent to find a missing partner.

  2. 2

Search for Pals. Type a name or filter by element.

  3. 3

Read the result. The card shows the child's name, elements, and rarity. It also flags unique and gender-specific combos.

  4. 4

Filter by what you own. Add Pals to My Pals, then show only the pairs you can breed now.

  5. 5

Share the result. Copy the link to save a combo or send it to a friend.

Want Anubis? Open Find Parents, select Anubis, and switch on the owned-Pals filter. You'll see only the pairs you can start breeding today.

Tips for Better Palworld Breeding Combinations

Set up your breeding base

You need a Breeding Farm (unlocked at level 19), one male and one female Pal, and cake in the farm's chest. On default settings, the pair lays an egg about every five minutes and uses one cake per egg.

Place each egg in an Egg Incubator. The basic model reacts to temperature, so heat or cool the area to suit the egg. Later incubators skip that step. The late-game Ancient Hatchery combines farm and incubator into one much faster machine.

Choose the right cake

Mushroom CakeRaising statsAdds 1 to 5 points to the child's IVs
Vegetable CakeVolumeTwo eggs per breed
Extravagant Vegetable CakeMutation huntingIV bonus plus a higher mutation chance
Special CakePerfect passivesPasses exactly four passives and all active skills from the parents

Plan your chain backwards

Start with your target Pal and work back to Pals you own. Check genders at each step, because some species skew heavily one way. Female Kingpaca and male Elizabee each hatch only about one time in ten.

Keep the parents' passive pool clean. One unwanted passive on a parent can appear on every egg.

Common breeding mistakes

  • Running out of cake. The farm stops when the chest empties.
  • Using combo lists from before 1.0. Some recipes changed at full release.
  • Breeding for species first and fixing passives later. You end up doing the work twice.
  • Ignoring world settings. Custom servers can change breeding and hatching speed.

Speed up every step

Keep Grintale in your party when you collect eggs. Its partner skill gives each egg you pick up a chance to duplicate. The Philanthropist passive doubles breeding speed for the Pal that carries it. At your base, Braloha speeds up egg production and Dynamoff speeds up hatching.

Questions & Help

Palworld Breeding Calculator FAQ

Why did my egg differ from the calculator's result?

Check three things. Confirm both parents match the species you selected, since variants like Penking Lux have their own breeding power. Look for a Mutated Egg, which hatches a different Pal. Finally, modded servers can alter game data.

Can you breed legendary Pals in Palworld?

Yes, if you already own them. Regular pairings never produce Jetragon, Necromus, or other legendaries, so catch a male and a female first. Breeding them then gives you extra copies and fresh chances at better passives.

Does the order of the parents matter?

No. Lamball with Penking gives the same egg as Penking with Lamball. Order only matters in the Katress and Wixen pairing, where the female parent decides the result.

How long does it take to breed and hatch an egg?

On default settings, a pair lays one egg every five minutes of real time. Larger eggs from rarer Pals take longer to hatch. Server owners can adjust both speeds in world settings.

Can two Pals of the same gender breed?

No. Every pair needs one male and one female. If you own only one gender of a Pal, hatch more copies from any working combo until the other gender appears.

Do old breeding combos still work after Palworld 1.0?

Most do, because the core formula stayed the same. But 1.0 added 72 Pals, which can shift where an average lands, and some special recipes changed. After each major update, check the patch notes on Palworld's Steam page.

Which cake is best for perfect passive skills?

Use the Special Cake once your two parents hold exactly the four passives you want. The child inherits those four passives plus all the parents' active skills. Until then, regular cake costs less while you build the right parents.
